If Yahoo buys Tumblr...
squashed: azspot: squashed: … okay. I mean, I guess that would be fine. I guess change is inevitable. It happens fast on the Internet. The blogs I first followed on Tumblr are by and large gone. Or less active. In some way, I feel like the old guy who hangs out with kids because all his friends are dead. And he likes yelling at kids. The point being, Yahoo isn’t looking to buy talent,...

artalias: electronicanonsensica: Everyone is missing the biggest problem here. Fuck the ads. Fuck the links. Fuck the email stuff. Yahoo explicitly forbids pornography and sexually suggestive material on their websites and all affiliates. That means no more porn on Tumblr. … God help us all.

plot twist: yahoo buys tumblr and we get proper blocking features, lockable posts, a sent folder in messages/fanmail with a better interface, ability to search multiple tags, removal of the post and message limits, proper search engines for likes/archives and removing that bloody "reblog as a link" option.

corvidism: Experimenting with Processing. It’s a love/hate relationship. I love what it can do in hands of artists (and by “love” I mean “fangirl faint over”)… but I hate how, well, math-y it all is.  (Math and me - not friends. We have a history.) I think I’ll always need the crutch of a decent scenegraph, but I’m not giving up just yet. I guess I do hate to lose now and then.

thepioden: hair-old-styles: harrystyies: What if oxygen is poisonous and it just takes 75-100 years to kill us? My science teacher said he thinks that’s true actually Yeah this is actually pretty much exactly what is going on. It’s why anti-oxidants are such a big deal. Bonus fact: oxygen oxidizes stuff in your cells or, in other words, it’s not toxic, just setting you on fire very very...

scones and evil: On Fan Fiction →
onlyalittlelion: tywinning asked you: 2012-08-09 03:37 As a professor, may I ask you what you think about fanfiction? I think fanfiction is literature and literature, for the most part, is fanfiction, and that anyone that dismisses it simply on the grounds that it’s derivative knows fuck-all about literature and needs to get the hell off my lawn. Most of the history of Western literature...

Uhhhh…. I’m really thinking about asking to join S.T.A.G. But. Chatting. With actual people. *whimpers* I can’t believe someone can be so shy and such a chatterbox like me. Seriously. That’s some real wrong wiring, up in my noggin.

An open letter to all Fandoms- From a Bisexual Fan
fandomsandfeminism: Hi Fandoms, My name is Rosie. I’m 22. I grew up in Texas, about an hour south of Austin. I’m the oldest of 4 children; the child of teachers; on my way to be a teacher as well. I’m a fan of Sci-Fi and Fantasy, of anime and manga, of magical girls and pirates. I’m a fanfic writer and reader, a con-goer and a casual cosplayer. I’m a nerd girl and a feminist.  I like Star...

fandomsandfeminism: cuteandfeminist: fandomsandfeminism: cuteandfeminist: fandomsandfeminism: I want to make a point right here. It isn’t a super new or original point, but its one we need to say more often. I do not want to be equal to men. Especially not to white, straight, cis, able-bodied, nuero-typical men. More Female Protagonists
summer-of-supervillainy: Now in non-princess flavor! This list is a bit more queer and racially diverse than the last one. I’ve been spending a lot of time looking at my bookshelf and considering my tastes in reading material. And, well, it isn’t really  a coincidence that I’ve gravitated towards fantasy. Yes, I like it, but also it’s got a ton more female protagonists than many other genres,...
