Smoking Gun excercises
I’ve been drawing mug shots from The Smoking Gun as an excercise last few days. I can’t remember where I found this tip (some article about overcoming an art block, I guess) and I must say it’s great. You get variety of faces and expressions, not just the usual make-uped pretties from magazines or stocks.

Day 29 - A book everyone hated but you liked
Hmm… I have a thing for mediocre action oriented books - think book equivalent of B movies. Other than those, I’m usually the type who hates books others like.

I read mostly fantasy and scifi… it usually isn’t too opinion changing, frankly.

I have this soft spot for Simmons’ Hyperion. Very good, very unique sci-fi that needs more love. Also, Robert Fabian’s space-marines books have to be translated to english.
